What are we using the Flash program to create? Tell me at least 5 terms and explain them that you learned as we did practice with Flash.

We are using the Flash program to create a short story or fractured fairy tale. Our story is also supposed to have animations in it. I'm remaking The Gingerbread Man into The Gingerbread Woman. One term I learned is the stage. That's the background of the story. Timeline is another term I learned. The timeline is on the bottom of the screen and you can create different keyframes or blank keyframes. Shape tween is a term I learned that morphs the shapes on screen. Using the classic tween you can move the shape or object wherever you want. The last term I learned is motion tween. The motion tween is similar to the classic tween it just moves in a smoother motion.

How did your company presentation go? What was the best part? What was the weakest part? What is the main thing you learned during this presentation?

My company presentation went okay, I didn't do as well as I planned. The best part was getting it over with. The weakest part was coming up with an original idea because that part was our lowest score. The main thing I learned during this presentation was to not freak myself out and get nervous when presenting.

Reflect on the progress of your company project--3-4 sentences.

The progress on my company project is coming along well. We have most of the requirements done. We still have to make advertisements but that should be easy.

Review this semester. What activities have you enjoyed and why? Why activities have you not enjoyed and why? Upload your favorite piece of work so far and explain why it is your favorite.

This semester consisted of working on photoshop and illustrator to make logos. We also created a business plan. I enjoyed creating the logos because it gave me a chance to be creative and play around with different ideas. I didn't enjoy creating the business plan because it was a lot of work. We had to answer very specific questions and had to do a lot of research. My favorite piece of work so far has been the Easter card. It's my favorite because Easter is my favorite holiday. The flowers remind me of spring time and it says hoppy Easter like a bunny hops instead of happy Easter.

Upload your favorite logo. Explain how you made it. Explain why it is your favorite.

This is my favorite logo because it's clean and simple and could be placed on any product we make. I like the ribbons around the edge and the colors. I made it using photoshop starting off with two ellipses, one inside of the other. I made a text box in the center of the circle to make the two c's. I made smaller ellipses around the outside for the dots and used the custom shape tool to make the ribbons.

What are the eight parts of the business plan your were assigned? Is that different then you thought? What are the issues you have had so far writing your plan? What has been easy?

The eight parts of a business plan are executive summary, company description, market analysis, organization/management, product line, marketing/sales, funding request and financial projections. These parts are different than what I thought they would be because I thought we would only have to think of a product and where we would sell it. I didn't think we would have to make a market analysis and financial projection. Each part needed to be very detailed and specific as well. So far it's been difficult deciding where to market our products and how to price them. The easy part was thinking of the product and who was going to be in charge of management.

What do you think goes in a business plan? What are the parts? Is research involved? What facts do you need to know, if any? Where could you find this information?

In a business plan you should include your goals and when you want to accomplish them by. You should include what type of business you want that would suit you best and what products you would be selling. You probably should do a little research on different forms of businesses to find out what would be the best for you. You would need to know facts about the products you were selling because if I customer asked a question you would want to give them good information. You could find any of this information by talking to a professional in the business world. You could also research online or find some books that would help you get started.

Explain at least two difference between Photoshop and Illustrator. Which one do you like better and why?

Photoshop images are made up of pixels and Illustrator images are made up of lines. You can zoom in as far as you can on Illustrator and your image won't get blurry or pixelated like on Photoshop. I like using Photoshop better because I'm familiar with it. Using Illustrator was confusing for me because I didn't know how to use all of the different tools.

What has been your favorite project so far and why? Upload the project and explain why it has been your favorite.

Playing around with my name has been my favorite project so far. I liked this project because it was pretty easy to do and we got to be creative. We could use as many colors as we wanted, give it a shadow, bend and twist it all around and even give it texture. Some of the other projects have been challenging, so this simple one was my favorite.

What do you need to do to start a business? Try to list and explain at least 5 things that you would need to consider.

To start a business you would first need to decide if you wanted to offer a product or a service. Are you going to cut hair or sell clothes? You would also need to decide if you want to start your business out of home or if you want to rent a building. If you got a building for your business you should find a good location that it would do well in. You wouldn't build a toy store right next to another toy store. You also wouldn't want put a jewelry store on top of a mountain. You would have to consider the income of the people in the area of where your business is located. To start a jewelry business you would have to make sure that people were financially able to buy nice jewelry. Another thing to consider is would you want employees for your business. If you do, you wouldn't hire just anybody to work for you. You would want to make sure your employees are responsible and honest.
